It was a dreary day my friends but nothing was going to stop the Slice Guys council members, Boboli, Ellio and Tombstone from getting over to Watertown for their official monthly pizza meeting of the minds, adjourning at Stella’s Pizzeria located at 605 Mount Auburn Street. Tombstone took the lead with this month’s selection and much to the dismay of the others, research was not the first thing on Tombstone’s agenda; he was hungry and extremely anxious for something saucy and cheesy which unfortunately left Ellio twiddling with his piePhone in anticipation for at least an hour since Stella’s doesn’t open until 1pm on Sunday afternoon (a tad inconvenient and strange if you ask these Slice Guys).

Historic Five Point, Raleigh, NC
Lg Cheese: $13.00
Pizza Style: Californian/Neapolitan
Venue Style: Sit down/Take out
Food Order: 1 Medium Cheese & 1 Medium Pepperoni
Beverage Order: 1 Diet Pepsi

Slice Guy Boboli was in Raleigh, NC and decided to hit up Lilly’s Pizza on the advice of a bartender at The Pit.  Lilly’s has a lot of character; tons of crazy stuff on the walls with music ranging from Slayer to gangsta rap, with a hint of hippy tree hugger. Lilly’s prides themselves on their fresh organic ingredients and specialize in vegetarian & vegan offerings, however meat is available. Both pies had too much cheese which lead to a greasy experience. Crust was too doughy oily as well.

Boboli’s Rating: 2 slices, (this pizza is better than no pizza).

Pino’s serves and is known for the New York Neapolitan style pizza but also offer Sicilian style.  Ordering was simple and we only waited around 8 minutes for our pizza to be ready. The holy trinity of shakers (Parmesan/Romano, oregano, crushed red pepper) were available. Continue reading
