Slice Guy Boboli was in Raleigh, NC and decided to hit up Lilly’s Pizza on the advice of a bartender at The Pit.  Lilly’s has a lot of character; tons of crazy stuff on the walls with music ranging from Slayer to gangsta rap, with a hint of hippy tree hugger. Lilly’s prides themselves on their fresh organic ingredients and specialize in vegetarian & vegan offerings, however meat is available. Both pies had too much cheese which lead to a greasy experience. Crust was too doughy oily as well.

Boboli’s Rating: 2 slices, (this pizza is better than no pizza).

Review:  Matty B’s is located in Bartlett, in the Attitash Ski Area of New Hampshire.  The pizza at this active restaurant was a featured item and two weary slice guy travelers were looking for a pie to sink their teeth into and awaken their senses.  It did not take long until the pizza was delivered to the table and our faces were as readable as a book.    The crust appeared overcooked and dry but we hoped that looks were deceiving as we brought the slices to our mouths.  Unfortunately, looks were not deceiving and our burning desire for pizza turned into a bitter burnt crust.  While we only expect to see black diamonds on the slopes, we found them on the bottom of this pizza as well.  A definite disappointment for the Pie Guys.  The sauce of this pizza was also overpowering and left everything to be desired.

Advice:   If you are in New Hampshire and it is cold in your cabin, go to Matty B’s for some pizza, so you can come home feeling burned.
