Despite a few early inconveniences, which will be addressed later, Babbo eventually delivered. The bottom line, as always is PIZZA, and they definitely have excellent pizza. We started the night with a traditional Margarita that was perfectly balanced with a light tomato puree, fresh and flavorful basil and surprisingly lively mozzarella. We use the word lively because it seemed to dance in your mouth the more you chewed; it was a new experience and a welcomed one at that. We usually save the best for last but who has time for that. Aside from a from haunted picture frame (one hoisted itself from off of the windowsill and onto Tombstones lap without any outside interference, Zoinks!), Max and Leo’s was Excellent with a capital E. Loyal SG fanatics know that we have hit up a few AVPN certified Neapolitan style pizza establishment. We have been less than impressed with their offerings and upholding these very specific pizza standards. Where these places failed, Max and Leo’s prevailed. Continue reading

It had been too long since the last Slice Guys meeting and we were all going a little “Jack Torrance” thanks to the 5 feet of snow pretty much making us shut ins since the end of January. We found our own little Overlook Hotel in the Spruce Pond Creamery; a bed and breakfast looking establishment with a typical summertime New England ice cream joint feel. Continue reading
